SS Rajamouli’s RRR has earned another distinction as the film’s song Naatu Naatu will be performed live at the Oscar’s ceremony on March 13. The song is also nominated in the Music (Original Song) category. Singers Rahul Sipliganj and Kaala Bhairava will be performing the song at the Oscar’s night.
Reacting to this global honour, veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt spoke to ETimes and expressed his views on what it means to have this chance to shine on the world stage. He said, “We may have different religions, different languages, and different coloured skin. Still, we, in the world of movies, worship the cinema God, which brings all of us together under one roof. Naatu Naatu is that miracle glue which will be bringing the world together when it’s performed at the 95th Oscars.”

On February 28, The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced that Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava will perform the Naatu Naatu song at the Oscars. Kaala Bhairava is the son of Naatu Naatu’s composer MM Keeravani.

Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Alia Bhatt was also part of RRR. And recently, after MM Keeravani had won the Golden Globe for Naatu Naatu, Bhatt had told ETimes, “Simplicity is what defines Keeravani ji. The man who made India proud spoke straight from his heart and his simplicity was so disarmed. It was so heartening to see a person walk up there and share the moment of glory with the entire team. This is a rare attribute.”
